Catholic Recipe: Paprika Fish

    INGREDIENTS

  • 1-1/2 pounds whitefish in 1-1/2-inch chunks
  • 1-1/2 pounds bluefish in 1-1/2-inch chunks
  • 3 large onions, minced
  • 4 tablespoons butter
  • 2 teaspoons paprika
  • 1 small green pepper, sliced
  • salt water to marinate fish

DIRECTIONS

Soak fish 1 hour in salted water, drain. Fry onions in butter in deep saucepan until golden brown. Add paprika, fish, green pepper, water to cover. Simmer 35 minutes without stirring. Remove fish chunks. Strain liquid; use as sauce over fish. Serve immediately. Yield, 4 servings
