Catholic Recipe: Heart Cake

    INGREDIENTS

  • 1 cup sugar
  • 1 cup butter
  • 1 egg
  • 1 teaspoon cream
  • 1/2 teaspoon soda
  • 1/2 teaspoon nutmeg
  • Flour
  • Extract of rose

A simple and delicious Valentine heart cake that is made in honor of St. Valentine, and is an offering for our loved ones.

DIRECTIONS

Cream butter and sugar. Add egg, cream and spices. Flavor with extract. Stir in enough flour to make a stiff dough. Roll on a floured board. Cut into hearts. Bake on a cookie sheet in a moderate oven (350°) about 15 minutes or until brown.
