Catholic Recipe: Marlborough Pudding

    INGREDIENTS

  • 12 Tablespoons applesauce
  • 12 Tablespoons sugar
  • 12 Tablespoons white wine
  • 6 Tablespoons melted butter
  • 4 eggs
  • juice and rind of 1 lemon
  • 1 cup milk
  • 1/2 nutmeg

In memory of the land from which the Pilgrims came, we shall add Marlborough Pudding. This is a dish for Thanksgiving which New England inherited from the parent England.

DIRECTIONS

Mix the applesauce, sugar, wine, and melted butter. Beat the eggs well and add with the juice and grated rind of the lemon and the cup of milk. Finally grate half a nutmeg into the mixture and bake in a moderate oven until firm.
