DIRECTIONS

Mix all ingredients except sugar in a saucepan. Heat sugar in a skillet; stir as it browns. Pour sugar in ovenproof dish so as to coat the sides. Then pour in the liquid mixture and place the pyrex dish in another pan half filled with water. This prevents the sugar from burning to the sides of the dish. Bake in oven for 3/4 hour at 250°, or until a knife insetted into the mixture comes out clean.
