VIA DOLOROSA
The Sorrowful Way. The route, according to tradition, which Jesus followed walking from Pilate's court to Calbary. It is a steep, narrow street that pilgrims traverse in meditating on the incidents that culminated in the Crucifixion. The Stations of the Cross are marked on buildings along the route to dramatize the events for those who walk in these sacred processions.
