SYMBOLS, CHRISTIAN

Signs or emblems of religious truth. They are sensibly perceptible means by which revelaed mysteries can be more or less understood. They can be written or spoken or expressed in graphic form. In a class by themselves are the sacraments, which not only symbolize a revealed truth but actually confer what they signify.
