PHILOSOPHY OF RELIGION
The science of human beings as religious persons. It may take on a variety of forms, depending on the subject investigated and the premises of the investigation. Thus it may study the historic religions to determine their common denominator and account for their differences; or it may seek to establish the rational foundations of the historic religions to determine their credibility; or it may assume the validity of given religion, as Christianity, and analyze its principal tenets and practices on philosophical grounds.
