ITINERARIUM
Any prayers said before starting a journey, even a short one, asking God, Mary, the angels or saints for their protection. Before the revision of the Divine Office in 1970 it contained a lengthy form of blessing before undertaking a journey. It consisted of the Benedictus with corresponding antiphons, versicles, collects, and prayers. Religious communities often have their own versions of the itinerarium, a short form for ordinary trips and a more solemn form for lengthy journeys.
