HOLY SEPULCHER
The tomb at Jerusalem where the body of Christ lay between his burial and resurrection. It was a new tomb, cut out of rock, closed with a big stone, and belonging to Joseph of Arimathaea. It was situated in a garden outside the city walls. Over it Emperor Constantine erected a basilica, in place of which today stands the Church of the Holy Sepulcher.
