ENTHRONEMENT OF THE SACRED HEART

The official and social acknowledgment of the sovereignty of the Heart of Jesus over a Christian family. As a religious ceremony, it consists in the formal installation of a picture of the Sacred Heart in the place of honor of a home and by an act of consecration, led by a priest. It was first promoted by Mateo Crawley-Boevey (1875-1960), member of the Fathers of the Sacred Heart, and approved by Pope St. Pius X.
