COUNSELING
A general term for a wide variety of procedures for helping people cope with personal problems or adjust to difficult situations. Implicit in the Christian notion of counseling are two essential factors: that the advice given is based on the premises of faith, appealing to one's trust in divine providence; and that the counseling is joined with a prayer for light to guide the mind in discerning the will of God.
