Altoona-Johnstown update
By Jeff (articles ) | June 15, 2003 7:55 AM
From scenic central Pennsylvania comes this article about threatening letters sent to three orthodox Altoona-Johnstown priests. Federal officials and the state police are investigating the letters, sent by an organization that claims to represent twenty-six other priests. The diocese refuses to comment.
In my nomination for the year's most humorous clerical quote, one of the orthodox priests comments: "There certainly are not 26 priests behind this. You couldn't get 26 priests in this diocese to agree on how to tie their shoes if they were wearing loafers."
