Off the Record

preview of Obamacare?

A US tax court has ruled that Rhiannon O'Donnabhain can deduct the $25,000 that he spent to become she: the medical costs of sex-change surgery. The court ruled that the Internal Revenue Service was wrong to say that the surgery was not medically necessary, since O'Donnabhain was suffering from that well known disease, "gender identity disorder."

The court added, however, that O'Donnahbain could not deduct the added cost of breast-enhancement surgery. The tax court found that for a man (starting out) who suffers from gender-identity disorder, it's medically necessary to have breasts, but not necessary to have big ones. And you thought Solomon was wise!

Look on the bright side. Although O'Donnabhain can deduct these medical expenses, he (or she, depending on when the check was dated) paid the costs by him/herself. In a matter of weeks, if President Obama and the US bishops have their way, and the tax-court judgment stands, the American taxpayer could be footing the bill.

I believe that the prime motivation behind these various health care bills is to destroy what little is left of medical ethics, and make all of us pay for anything that crosses their perverted and very short-term minds.
