are you scared?

Hans Küng has criticized Pope Benedict.

In other news, the sun rose in the east this morning.

Writing in the Italian daily La Repubblica, Küng said that the Pope's invitation to Anglicans was tantamount to "unecumenical piracy of priests," and worried that Pope Benedict is encouraging alliances among conservative Christians, to the detriment of progressive forces. He charged:

The pope’s basic message is: “Traditionalists of all churches, unite under the dome of St. Peter’s!”

Küng seems to think that readers will find that message alarming.

Fr Kung: "The pope’s basic message is: “Traditionalists of all churches, unite under the dome of St. Peter’s!” And the problem with that is?

If Kung is so scared, maybe that means it might really happen!!

I will have to reread the account of creation in Genesis. It seems that some theologians believe that God created us progressive and conservative, as well as male and female. Who knew?

Any possibility we could trade Kung to the Anglicans for their conservative ones?
