unsolved mystery

By Diogenes (articles ) | Dec 07, 2007

There were no witnesses. He didn't file a police report. In fact Cardinal Mahony didn't tell anyone that he had been physically assaulted until months after the fact. Now the trail is cold, and unless they somehow gain more evidence, police are unlikely to find the perp.

Does that seem implausible to you? A potentially dangerous, violent man is on the loose in LA. He could be a threat to others. And yet the cardinal-archbishop didn't bother to tell police?

Oh wait. Never mind.

Let's see.... the crime happens in July (his staff must have known since it took a month to recover)... he tells a group of priests in October.... and nobody leaks a word???? No leaks until the very day that we pay out 660 million sex abuse bucks and the biggest abuser of them all receives his sentence. That's the day it leaks. Sounds like Bill "hey guys lets bomb Somalia today, Monica is giving a press conference" Clinton. Wasn't Bill's brother named Roger? Wag the dog!

Nothing that happens either to His Eminence or on the West Coast surprises me any longer. It's funny just how wonderful grace is--what better match could there be than Hollywood and Roger Cardinal Mahony?

Seems like some bad fifties movie. Some low-life thugs hang around outside of an old building in L.A.--hands in pockets. The humble, content business man walks calmly to the mailbox. Some says, "Get'm boys," and then they attack him and say, "This is for the victims of the sex abuse scandal." Did I say business man? Is it really plausible that these guys knew when he'd be leaving the office to drop off mail?
