metaphysician hunt?

By Diogenes (articles ) | Mar 15, 2007

From Duxbury, Massachusetts, home of America's first squeezable contact lens wetting solution container, comes ... I'm not sure what:

Dr. Kendra, that is, is it not, a Roman collar ...?

Reverend Dr. Kendra Vaughan Hovey is the founding Elder High Priestess and Metaphysician of the First Church of Wicca. Starting as a Solitary Practitioner at the age of 11, she joined an Eclectic Coven while attaining her first college degree in Rhode Island. She was Initiated and Ordained by the Dark Forest Coven in 1989. She branched off from the mother hive and led a new coven for several years until her career forced her to leave the group. From there, she continued to practice Solitary Wicca while studying at the University of Metaphysics, and has since obtained her Doctorate in Ministry, specializing in Pastoral Counseling. She is currently studying for her Ph.D. in Holistic Ministry at the American Institute of Holistic Theology. Reverend Dr. Kendra is an Ordained Metaphysical Minister with the International Metaphysical Ministry and an Ordained Elder High Prie --

There's more -- lots more -- where that comes from. One can imagine her auditors would resort to almost any measure to put an end to the stream of depressing New Age cheer. Did you ever think you'd feel vague twinges of sympathy for the DA's office in 17th century Salem?

Isn't she a professor at Weston Jesuit School of Theology?

In the interest of clear information, the web site fides sets out doesn't say she had a sex change. It speaks of another "family" where the father got a sex change. It seems there is a series highlighting unique "family situations" or something like that. Fides is right: St. Michael, protect us.

The "Universty of Metaphysics." That sounds way cool. I want in. I foolishly thought "handfasting" might be a fast involving giving up the use of you hand. Not so. http://www.handfasting.info/ You learn something every day, even if it's completely useless.

Tab collar...hair down the back...an inappropriate pectoral cross...a very active blog…can't you all see the glaring warning signs? I think someone should search her vestment closet...I bet it’s full of rainbow stuff, children of the world crap, and horse blankets. Oh my… What should worry us more, however, is that there are still some dioceses that don’t see a problem with her advancing to major theology. Oh my!

The glasses prove she's the man for the job.

"So is she a hive honeybee or a solitary bee? Or is it a Do-bee and a Don't-bee. To bee or not to bee. ." I think he's a Queen Bee....bbbbzzzzzzz!

Novus 744, a pitchfork will work on metaphysicians if it has solid silver tines. I have several that I keep for just such occasions. You can borrow one of them.

Nothing says lovin' like something from the coven!

  • Posted by: - Mar. 15, 2007 2:20 PM ET USA

WAIT!! Don't start the mob without me. I gotta go home and grab my pitchfork. I would bring a spare for someone else too, but I'm not convinced that they'll work on metaphysicians. Is there a patron saint against metaphysicians that we can pray to?

The collar doesn't quite cover "her" prominent Adam's apple. Perhaps Dr. Kendra's chromosomes should be tested. jchrysostom go to the head of the class. Scroll down about six subjects and read. We live in unparalleled times. St. Michael protect us. http://209.85.165.104/search?q=cache:DkZ95uyzJREJ:life.gracefulsymmetry.com/ archive/2007/02/+Kendra+Vaughan+Wicca+sex+change&hl=en&ct=clnk&cd=1&gl=us

I dunno. I got a good laugh out of this one. jchrysostom is right though: she (?) does have a very prominent laryngeal prominence. Hmmm...

I wouldn't go rushing to buy shares of Almy...

The word "Church" should be copyrighted, patented etc., to dissallow people like this from abusing the word.

After reading things like this, I am astounded that there are many folk, many nominally RELIGIOUS folk, who don't believe in the devil.

Pray for her, she is a child of God. But Rev. Dr., please lose the costume.

This gal is a jack (jill?) of all trades! On her website there's a whole list of "legal ceremonies" the High Priestess can do. I got really excited when I read on the list that she can do "house cleaning," but then I read more closely and saw that it's something called "house clearing." Oh well... cleaning or clearing, maybe I ought to call her. My desk is a real mess.
