RAMPAGING CHRISTIANITY

By Fr. Wilson (articles ) | October 09, 2004 11:45 PM

"During a speech to high school students in Tehran six months ago, Shiite cleric Hasan Mohammadi from the Ministry of Education declared, “Unfortunately, on average every day, 50 Iranian girls and boys convert secretly to Christian denominations in our country.” After the speech, which was reported by the Inter Press Service (IPS) news agency’s correspondent Ramin Mostaghim on May 5, the father of one student in the audience told IPS that Mohammadi had “unknowingly admitted the defeat of the Islamic Republic of Iran as a theocratic regime in promoting its Islam.”

"...because the Holy Ghost over the bent world broods with warm breast and with, Ah! bright wings."

May I quote the beginning of that poem? "The world is charged with the grandeur of God. It will flame out, like shining from shook foil;" Deo gratias! -and Gerard Manley Hopkins was a Jesuit!

Islam is doomed eventually to embrace Christianity. It is, and acknowledged in modern times by H. Belloc, a Christian heresy mainly by simplification (Allah is substituted for the Trinity and made remote rather than immanent). And recent German scholarship shows that the bulk of the Koran comes from a Syrian Christian equivalent of a catechism used for evangelizing Bedouins. That is why it is as complimentary to Christ and Mary as it is.
