If someone could tell us how to rehabiliate the episcocate maybe we wouldn't have so many priests that need rehabiliation. I suppose they need to spend several more millions of dollars before they get the message. It's offensive that such men were allowed into the priesthood in the first place. No real solution will be found until the Church gets away from the sociological and psychological models of Church.

Perhaps this would make an interesting study (but maybe somewhat depressing). In the last six centuries when were Catholic Bishops EVER effectively and consistently disciplined (either by Rome or by each other) for abuses, particularly of the grosser type if for nothing else than to protect the laity???
