Mahony turns up the rhetoric

By Fr. Wilson ( articles ) | Jun 13, 2003

Well Cardinal Mahony has had enough of Governor Keating and the National Review Board. And Keating's comments about the bishops were "off the wall". And Bishop Wilton Gregory shouldn't have just appointed Keating; he should have appointed a committee to find someone to head the board. And at the forthcoming bishops' meeting he will raise the issue of Keating's performance...

"Bring Me the Broomstick of the Witch of the West!!!! Pay no attention to that man behind the curtain!!" Once you've actually gotten a peek behind that curtain, and seen the smoke and the flashing lights and the whirring gears, this really is one tawdry operation. I've a mind to rent Peter Seller's "The Mouse That Roared" this weekend, and immerse myself in the cuckoo-land of the Grand Duchess Rowena and her Duchy of Grand Fenwick.
