By far the most important Catholic news story this week broke on Wednesday: Cardinal Müller, German bishops clash on interpretation of Amoris Laetitia.

Cardinal Müller, head of the Congregation for the Doctrine of the Faith, has now stated that Pope St. John Paul II's teaching on Communion for the divorced and remarried is still in force. This is Magisterially true, but one wonders, frankly, whether Cardinal Müller's job is safe.

Meanwhile, there is the immigration debate. Churchmen, at least, should be very cautious about attributing evil motives to President Donald Trump. Consider these news stories:
