When the head of the Congregation for the Doctrine of the Faith said he cannot answer the cardinals' questions about Amoris Laetitia without the Pope's approval, I took notice.

In contrast with Cardinal Müller's caution, the Bishop of San Diego has acted precipitously in asking all sorts of couples to decide for themselves whether they should receive Communion. Phil Lawler explains in The impoverished faith of the San Diego diocese.
