eNewsletter Subject: Tougher to Stand Firm?

Speaking of the difficulties of standing firm, CatholicCulture.org is having a rough time financially in March (which went quite well last year). I hope very much that you'll step up and help.

But that's really not what I mean by suggesting that it is growing tougher to stand firm. Rather, consider some of the things we've written about over the past few days:

For example, Phil Lawler has stressed again the importance of bishops defending accused priests they believe innocent of sexual abuse: Priests need defense against false accusations. (If you follow the money, you can predict that some charges are false.)

At the same time, however, bishops are reluctant to become targets themselves: Australian archbishop charged for failing to report abuse....
