China Adds 22,000 to Christ

This Easter 22,000 new Catholics were created in China, a remarkable number considering the hardships involved. That speaks to us of the power of the Resurrection.

At around the same time in the United States, an official Methodist and Catholic discussion group was working hard on a joint statement, hoping to get it out not in time for Easter, but in time for Earth Day. Surveying the CatholicCulture.org landscape, I see also that Phil Lawler has caught up with Cardinal Roger Mahony again, hard as he typically is to track down: Cardinal Mahony dodges again. It is a thankless job, but somebody has to do it.

I also notice that we have updated our website review for The Cardinal Newman Society. CNS has become an important force for renewal in Catholic universities and colleges, including its new Center for the Advancement of Catholic Higher Education.... [more content for subscribers]
