eNewsletter Subject: The Church Militant...Again!

You'll recall that Pope Benedict warned some American bishops recently that he was seeing a marked decline in religious freedom in America. Coupled with the Obama Administration's full-scale assault on the consciences of Catholics, a new militancy is—at long last—gripping the Church.

The following news stories may be just the tip of the iceberg:

• Bishops rip HHS mandate; Bishop Zubik: ‘to hell with you’
• Bishop blasts secularist intolerance, calls for ‘assertive action’ to defend Church

I'm hoping, of course, that such strong episcopal rhetoric will resonate with Catholics in the pews, but much has been lost over the years, and there is only one way to get it back. See my commentary on Archbishop Dolan's Letdown, and Job One.

Let's stick with American politics for a bit. This will enable Phil Lawler to tell us we must Demand action—not just rhetoric—on school choice....
