Your Term:

EROS

Originally, in Greek mythology, the god of love. In the Christian vocabulary eros is possessive love; it is the love that desires for one's own benefit. It is acquisitive love on whatever plane of self-satisfaction something is said to be loved, including learning or art, or, on a lower scale, the pleasures of sex, food, or bodily convenience. The term is most familiar in its adjective form of erotic or sexual. (Etym. Greek er_s,love.)
