Papal preacher's focus on charity toward neighbors

April 08, 2011

Genuine Christian charity elevates service to one's neighbors, the preacher to the pontifical household said on April 8 in the 3rd in a weekly series of Lenten sermons.

Father Raniero Cantalamessa offered his reflections in the Redemptoris Mater chapel, with Pope Benedict XVI and members of the Roman Curia in the congregation. The Lenten sermons are delivered each Friday during the penitential season, except during the week when of the annual Lenten retreat.
