Mexico: bishop calls on drug traffickers to repent

March 30, 2011

A Mexican prelate has called upon drug traffickers to repent and seek God’s forgiveness.

“Repent and believe in the Gospel," said Archbishop José Guadalupe Martín Rábago of León, Mexico’s seventh-largest city. "We address particularly those who, for whatever reason, are involved in the different forms of organized crime. God is calling you to conversion and his forgiveness is always available, but you must repent.”

“The criminals separate themselves from the Church in the measure in which they live a life of death, of aggression, of perversion,” he added.
