A Spanish priest remains in active ministry 3 years after he admitted financing abortions, the LifeSite News service reports.
Father Manel Pousa has paid for abortions, blessed same-sex unions, and promoted the ordination of women, according to Spanish media reports. But Cardinal Lluis Martinez Sistach of Barcelona has been content to give the errant priest a “warning” rather than suspending him.
The Code of Canon Law prescribes the penalty of excommunication for those who are directly involved in procuring or performing an abortion.

Hasn't the priest excommunicated himself by participating in an abortion - until he repents. the article sdid not say if he repented. Or is there a different standard for nuns and priests. The nun in Arizona was considered excommunicated when she voted with the ethics committee to allow an abortion. I think there needs to be a consistent world wide standard.

Obviously, abortion is not seen as child abuse there.
