Canadian pro-life activist wins Supreme Court hearing

February 22, 2011

A Canadian pro-life activist who has spent nearly 2 years in prison will have her day before the country's Supreme Court, arguing that her case should be heard by civil courts.

Linda Gibbons has been jailed for repeatedly violating an injunction that bars her from picketing at Toronto abortion clinics. Under the provisions of civil law, she is jailed when she violates that injunction-- and then pickets again immediately after her release.
