'Miracle' escape for Australian child blessed by Pope

February 17, 2011

A 3-year-old Australian girl who was blessed by Pope Benedict XVI survived without serious injuries when she was run over by a 22-passenger bus.

Claire Hill, whose parents had held her up to be kissed and blessed by the Pontiff during his visit to Australia for World Youth Day, was accidentally caught under the wheels of a bus. Although the tire tracks were clearly visible on her abdomen, doctors found no serious injury.
