European bishops discuss university pastoral work

Representatives of 23 European bishops’ conferences met recently in Munich to discuss university pastoral work. Archbishop Vincent Nichols of Westminster spoke on Blessed John Henry Newman’s Idea of a University, Tino Bargel of Konstanz University characterized current students as intensely individualistic, and Msgr. Sergio Lanza of the Catholic University of the Sacred Heart spoke on the importance of evangelization.
