Croatia, UNESCO commemorate Jesuit astronomer

The Croatian government and the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization are paying tribute to Father Roger Joseph Boscovich (1711-87) during the 300th year of his birth.
The Jesuit scientist helped develop modern atomic theory and discovered that the moon has no atmosphere. A lunar crater is named after him.
