Vatican at odds with Holocaust task force over criticism of Pius XII?

The Vatican has pulled back from participation in an international task force on the Holocaust, because of criticism of the role played by Pope Pius XII, according to an American diplomat’s account, in a confidential message made public by Wikileaks.
Julieta Valls Noyes, the second-ranking official in the US embassy at the Holy See, reported that the Vatican had been “backpedaling” on an agreement to join the Task Force for International Cooperation on Holocaust Education, Remembrance, and Research. She suggested this may have been due to “ITF pressure” calling for the Holy See to release the secret archives from the pontificate of Pius XII.
Vatican officials have frequently complained about criticism of Pope Pius XII, pointing out that the historical record shows the wartime Pope’s efforts to protect Jews from the Nazi genocide policies.

I agree with Minnesota Mary. The real animus behind the trashing of Pius XII is hatred of Christ and His Church. The historical facts don't matter nor do thankful adulations from the likes of Israeli Prime Minister Golda Meir at Pius' death or the former Jewish Rabbi of Rome (Eugenio Zolli) who converted to Catholicism because of Pius' heroic efforts to save as many Jews as he could. We will never get a fair shake in their eyes.

The historical record shows Pius XII did more than anyone during that sad time to save Jews from certain death. Pius did even more than Schindler and all Jews should recognize Pius for what he was, a hero.

I am so sick of these Holocaust zealots trashing Pope Pius XII! No world leader, religious or political, did more for the Jews during WW II than Pope Pius XII! Enough of making nice with these "People of the Lie!"
