Day of prayer for peace in Holy Land

December 16, 2010

The Pontifical Council for Justice and Peace has released a message for the Third International Day of Intercession for Peace in the Holy Land, an initiative begun by Catholic youth associations with the backing of Church leaders in Jerusalem. The 24 hours of prayer will begin Saturday evening, January 29.

“The Church has always made an effort to spread the message of peace, strengthened also by the words that the Risen One addressed to the disciples gathered in the Cenacle,” the president and secretary of the pontifical council said in their message. “We hope that this initiative, known already by many, will again be more appreciated and diffused, as the prayerful contribution of believers of the whole world in support of the Civilization of Love.”
