Pro-life statement brings death threats for Dutch journalist

November 16, 2010

A Dutch journalist has received multiple death threats after publishing an open letter asking a lawmaker to reconsider her support for legal abortion.

The open letter by Mariska Orban de Haas, published in the Catholic newspaper Katholiek Nieuwsblad, appealed to Jeannine Hennis-Plasschaert, a member of parliament who had object vociferously when she received a plastic model of an unborn child. Responding to the legislator’s claim that the model was “disgusting,” Orban argued, “is it not 'disgusting' that our society permits us to abort more than 30,000 babies in the Netherlands every year?"

In the Netherlands they threaten pro lifers and take to court one of the only people (Geert Wilders) who sees the forest for the trees in terms of the Muslim problem. Thank the good Lord I don't live there. What a twisted nation! We ought to pray for their return to sanity.
