New EWTN affiliate brings Catholic radio to Boston area

WQOM-AM 1060 began broadcasting on Monday morning, with an 8 AM Mass celebrated by Cardinal Sean O’Malley. The new 50,000-watt station reaches a potential listening audience of 5.5 million people.

WQOM, which is independent from the Boston archdiocese, is owned by the Station of the Cross radio network. Its 24-hour programming will be supplied primarily by EWTN.
