Pope Benedict XVI made an appeal for peace in India, Pakistan, and Afghanistan at the conclusion of his regular weekly public audience on Wednesday, September 15.
The Holy Father said that he has been following “with great concern” the recent news from the region. Muslim zealots have attacked Christians in several violent episodes in India and Pakistan during the past few days. “I pray for the victims and ask that respect for religious freedom and the logic of reconciliation and peace may prevail over hatred and violence,” the Pope said.
