Eucharistic adoration in St. Peter's in reparation for abuse scandal

The Vatican basilica will host a 2-hour service of Eucharistic adoration “in reparation for abuses committed by priests and for the healing of this wound within the Church" on May 29.
Msgr. Charles Scicluna, the chief Vatican prosecutor in sex-abuse cases, will offer a meditation during the Saturday service.
The initiative was organized by university students in Rome, who originally intended to hold it in another church. Cardinal Angelo Comastri, the archpriest of St. Peter's, prevailed upon the organizers to use the Vatican basilica.

Deacon: Amen. You are right....I would like to see this added to our intercessions at every Mass as well as to forgive our world for the sin of abortion and the deaths of so many innocent unborn children.

I would offer my holy hour this week, but it was discontinued because of a lack of interest by our pastor and congregation. Do you see a connection? Regarding reparation, if our God is a just God, the clergy will pay for their deeds of abuse of the innocent and mismanagement of the Church. I believe it pleases God that we pray for our brothers and sisters who were abused, but the notion that the faithful can atone for the actions of the clergy is too "touchy-feely" for me. God is just.

This holy hour should be offered in every latin Rite church, every day for the next fifty years in reparation for the abuses committed by priests and for the healing of this wound within the Church.

Thank you to the university students for this initiative. I will offer my Holy Hour of adoration this week for the same intentions.
