English Catholic organization hires ex-MP; voting record on life scrutinized

England's Catholic Education Service has hired a former lawmaker as its deputy director, despite concerns about his voting record. Greg Pope, who represented Hyndburn in Parliament, was outspoken in his opposition to euthanasia during his active political career. But Damian Thompson of the Daily Telegraph notes that the Labor Party politician voted in support of legal abortion.
