President Obama appoints Franciscan friar to bioethics panel

April 12, 2010

President Barack Obama has appointed a Franciscan friar who teaches at the University of Chicago as a member of his Commission for the Study of Bioethical Issues. An opponent of embryonic stem cell research and human cloning, Brother Daniel P. Sulmasy was influential in persuading the Catholic Health Association that Catholic hospitals could licitly administer the Plan B morning-after pill to rape victims.

I have know Brother Sulmasy for almost 40 years, and I can assure you that he is a devout Catholic and a dedicated physician, as well as a fine member of the Franciscan order. He is no CINO. Robert George of Princeton has praised the appointment.

This is so disturbing. A Plan B ethicist in friar's clothing. Sister what's-her-name only got 1 pen. We are into 4 pens with this recruit.

It's all part of Obama's evil "divide and conquer" strategy learned from none other than Saul Alinsky (who dedicated Rules for Radicals to Lucifer). He wants to promote CINOs and social justice types (ie, federalized socialism) as the "Catholic voice" of his administration while marginalizing pro-life Catholics. Pure evil! Why do Catholics continue to support him?

If you toady to this administration, they give you a job. That, of course, leads to an administration of toads.

Ah, Obama's at it again, trying to pull the wool over our eyes. He assumes all Catholics will see this appointment as being responsive to the concerns of Catholics, and that we will not check Br. Sulmasy's bone fide's. Thank you for doing so; here's another CINO (Catholic In Name Only) who picks and chooses among Church doctrines to believe. I can hear Obama now, saying, "Two out of three doctrines ain't bad." We need to tell Obama the cafeteria is closed!
