Mosul: Bomb placed outside Christian home kills 3-year-old
March 30, 2010
A bomb was placed outside a Christian family’s home in Mosul, killing a three-year-old child, injuring the other members of the family, and destroying the home. The bombing was the latest in a long series of murderous attacks on the city's Christian minority.
“The faithful are terrified,” said Syrian Catholic Archbishop George Casmoussa. “We will celebrate Easter in this situation of suffering and fear. Our churches will not be crowded, as they would usually be, as many Christian families have fled the city and many faithful will remain at home for fear of attacks. But, they continue to hope in God, in Jesus Christ, in His Resurrection, as He leads us as Iraqi Christians to rise with Him.”
