New technologies supply theme for 2009 World Day of Social Communications

The Vatican has announced the theme for next year's World Day of Social Communications: "New Technologies, New Relationships. Promoting a Culture of Respect, Dialogue and Friendship." The 43rd World Day for Social Communications will be observed on Sunday, March 31, 2009; a papal message on the day's theme will be released on January 24, the feast of St. Francis de Sale, the patron saint of journalism.
