New Ambrosian-rite Missal provokes another translation dispute

Catholics familiar with the long historical of debates over the translation of the Roman Missal into English may be interested to learn that another lively debate has begun over a new translation for the Ambrosian rite, as practiced in Milan. The outspoken Cardinal Giacomo Biffi-- a native of Milan, and retired Archbishop of Bologna-- is highly critical of the new translation.

Why is it, generally, that only retired bishops speak out??? Are they afraid to speak when they are still 'employed"?

Thanks for this brief. I was under the impression that the Ambrosian was celebrated only in the diocese of Milan, but it is clear that such an opinion is wrong.
