Euro court case on Irish abortion law seen as potential 'Roe v. Wade of Europe'

As the European Court of Human Rights takes up a case brought by three women challenging the Ireland’s legal protection for unborn children, American pro-life groups see the case as a crucial test. “Ireland’s constitutional amendment defending innocent life is under attack,” says Roger Kiska of the Alliance Defense Fund, which filed a brief in defense of the existing law. A colleague warns that the European court’s decision could have an impact similar to that of the Roe v. Wade case in the US.
