Former bishop’s name removed from building in West Virginia diocese

CWN Editor's Note: A Catholic high school in the Diocese of Wheeling, West Virginia has removed the name of former Bishop Michael Bransfield, who is now under investigation for alleged sex-abuse violations. Bishop Bransfield’s resignation was accepted in September, on his 75th birthday. Archbishop William Lori of Baltimore, who as apostolic administrator is conducting the investigation, approved the decision to remove the retired bishop’s name.
