Excommunicated Bourgeois: Catholic teaching on women’s ordination is ‘spiritual assassination’
August 24, 2009
Father Ray Bourgeois, who was automatically excommunicated for taking part in a women’s ordination ceremony, is persisting in his rejection of Catholic teaching.
“What’s going on in our Church today is spiritual assassination, it’s spiritual violence being done that’s inexcusable. That is a scandal,’’ he said at a service led by a former ” staff member of the Archdiocese of Boston, who now claims to be a female Catholic priest. “If they choose to kick me out of the Church because I believe that men and women are equal, so be it,’’ he added.
