CWN Editor's Note: Cardinal Timothy Dolan, the archbishops of Denver and San Antonio, and the bishops of Brownsville and El Paso (Texas) are among those who have condemned the policy—in addition to the president of the US Conference of Catholic Bishops and the chairman of its migration committee and Bishop Nicholas DiMarzio of Brooklyn, who wrote an op-ed column in the New York Daily News.

The above note supplements, highlights, or corrects details in the original source (link above). About CWN news coverage.

When families cross the border over fences (rather than at entry points) they must know they are risking the breakup of their families. The president is simply enforcing the existing laws which have been ignored during the Obama years.

So we consider incarcerating people who break the law as immoral since it separates them from their children? Are lawful migrants being separated from their children?

And did I miss it, or have the bishops come out in force like this against abortion?

I do not recall any voices of concern from the Bishops when there were massive waves of so-called "unaccompanied minors" crossing the US border under Obama. They were children separated from their living parents and sent to migrate to a foreign country.
