Pope Francis: Cardinal Arns showed ‘path of truth in charity’

In a telegram of condolence, Pope Francis remembered the late Cardinal Paulo Evaristo Arns of São Paulo, Brazil, as an “intrepid pastor” who was “an authentic witness of the Gospel amid his people.”
In expressing his sadness and offering his apostolic blessing, Pope Francis said that the late prelate showed “the path of truth in charity and in service to the community, in constant attention to the most disadvantaged.”
