Cemetery desecrated in Galilee

December 06, 2016

A Christian cemetery has been desecrated in Kafr Yasif, an Arab town of 10,000 in northern Israel whose residents are mostly Christians and Muslims.

“Blasphemous and obscene graffiti, written in Arabic, were found on several graves and funerary plaques as well as on the outer walls of the cemetery,” the Latin Patriarchate of Jerusalem said in a statement.

The patriarchate added that it “strongly condemns this act of vandalism and expressly asks the police to find the perpetrators and bring them to justice as soon as possible.”
