ACLU sues to block federal funding for agencies that help refugees but do not support abortion

June 30, 2016

The American Civil Liberties Union (ACLU) has filed suit against the federal government, seeking to block public funding for agencies that care for refugees but do not provide abortions.

The ACLU suit against the federal Department of Health and Human Services claims that by supporting private agencies that help refugees, and making allowances for the agencies' religious policies, the Department is involved in an unconstitutional establishment of religion.

I agree with the ACLU. Let religions fund themselves. Also let the civil war begin. We need to take back our tax dollars from the feds. Whose idea was it anyway, for the Church to jump in bed with the feds? What good can come from an invalid marriage between the Catholic Church and the anti-Catholic state? Since the 1st Amendment has been renounced by a state that has chosen to interfere with the free exercise of religion, and the Supreme Court is poised to continue to do so, let's have it out.
